Build and Design
The BESTWAY Hydro-Force Inflatable SUP might be pass produced, but it employs most of the similar modern materials and is built as more costly ISUPs. It is made of Tri-tech material – a polyester mesh core surrounded by two layers of laminated PVC material – resistant to ultraviolet rays and oils.
It is made using drop-stitch tech, which is essentially tons of polyester filaments woven combined in a way the paddleboard to withstand extreme air pressure and still maintain its lightness.
The paddleboard is relatively rigid for an inflatable and, like most SUPs, is less prone to damage on rocks and in transport tanks to its ultra-durable casing and build. This makes it the best option for a newbie who mightn’t have SUP experience with SUPs to handle more costly and fragile fiberglass or epoxy paddleboard.
The paddleboard features are pretty bright orange, white and blue color board in terms of aesthetics. It measures 120″ long, 32″ wide, and 4″ thick, with a weight limit of 209lbs –n the lower end than other ISUPs. The package comes with a carrying case that fits the deflated paddleboard, air pump, and accessories, though we found it to be relatively cheaply made.
As on most Standup paddleboards, there is an anti-slip traction pad covering the part of the paddleboard. You’d be standing on four d-rings at the front with a connected bungee cord that can be utilized to secure small products such as an additional layer or fishing pole.
At the back end of the paddleboard, there is another D-ring, where you can connect a leash. There is also a carrying handle.

Setup
The BESTWAY Hydro-Force Inflatable SUP comes with all you need to get out on the water. The including air pump was simple to attach and worked well, though it oddly looked to provide more resistance pulling up than pushing air out.
Unlike most air pumps that feature an analog dial display, this air pump was digital, though it is not evident if that provides any clear advantage over analog. Like most inflations, the pumping goes more complex, and more pressure is built up inside the paddleboard.
While it looked satisfactory inflated at around 10lbs each square inch, we struggled to gain pressure despite buoying our heavier reviewer better. The kayak addition is a fantastic add-on for the most affordable paddleboard out there.
Deflation was simple, of course, simply needing you to depress the valve to allow the air out. The valve does feature a lockout through the twist, but it was little guesswork with better hands to spin it just ideally to stay open.
When we desired to try the paddleboard out as a kayak, we strapped on the included seat pad and back, had the footrest, and converted the aluminum paddleboard to its two-handed modes.
One central cone is that the paddle must be converted and the seat connected. You have to decide in advance whether to kayak or stand-up paddleboard. It is not practical to switch between the two once on the water because of the paddle changing and additional parts lying around in stand-up paddleboard mode.

Performance
The BESTWAY Hydro-Force Inflatable SUP is stable, partly because of its reasonably wide 32″ deck area, and as such, it is an attractive choice for most beginners. Nothing will turn you away from SUP boarding faster than spending your time falling into the water.
That being said, stability comes at a cost. The rounded edges, flat bottom, and lack of any rocker make this paddleboard useless in something besides flat water. Waves and turning feel like a slight chore despite the relatively short 10′ length.
The 4″ thickness of the paddleboard worked well for our lighter testers, but our big rider at 190 lbs pushed the SUP lower than was ideal in still icy waters. We recommend this paddleboard for paddlers who do not come anywhere near the 209 lbs max weight limit, although if paddlers are very small, they might struggle to maneuver any paddleboard of this size.
While it does not glide easily, particularly under heavier riders, it works fine enough to get in an excellent workout and spend quality time on the water. Just do not plan on trying to cover very long distances on it.
We did not find it to be the best kayaking experience, the positioning was slightly awkward for paddling, and the support of the backrest was restricted. It also leaves you closer to the water than most kayaks, that especially for big riders, means a lot of water sloshing on your backside.
The gliding experience also does not get any better in kayak mode, and in a few ways, it feels challenging to propel the paddleboard forward with the shorter kayak paddle strokes. Though the kayak addition is a surprising add-on for what’s the most reliable SUP out there, it permits smooth versatility if you’ve family members or friends who are not interested in SUP.
The kayak option is not useless and certainly adds value to the paddleboard, but it certainly does not replace a real kayak experience.
