You can find Algonquin park about 300 km north of Toronto and 250 west of Ottawa.
At 7,632 square km in size, the park is nearly as massive as some littlest provinces.
While it is mainly famous for its greenery, about twelve percent of the area comprises waterways, making it a paddler and SUP destination.
An Algonquin Park is well-regarded for its canoeing.
You will generally find relaxed waters in some of these best spots:
- Take the Smoke lake to ragged lake route – This watery pathway is considered simple and the best beginning for beginners. You can find the entry at an access point. If you want to do the entire stretch, know that it can take 1 to 2 days. Let’s say, if you fall off your board a time or 2, no one’s going to judge.
- Another best pathway is the Oxtongue River route. With lots of lush scenery, it is the best choice if you want to make your way down at a leisurely pace. It is also famous for bringing more on the quiet side if you favor being in your head as you glide down the water. The complete journey will take about 1 to 2 days.
- Make your way to the Rain-Islet McCraney lake loop. This is generally a quieter path if you are looking for some alone time on the water. The entry is access point #4 and can take about 3 to 4 days if you plan on paddling the whole day.
